If you’re interested in scuba diving but not quite ready to commit to a full certification course\, Discover Scuba Diving is the perfect introduction. Offered in a pool\, this program provides a simple way to experience the basics of underwater exploration\, without the need for certification. \nParticipants should bring a swimsuit\, towel\, and any snorkeling gear they own. We will provide all the necessary equipment\, including snorkeling gear. \nAdditionally\, participants are required to complete a medical history form. If you answer “no” to all the questions\, a physician’s approval is not needed. However\, if you answer “yes” to any question\, you may need to get a doctor’s approval before participating. DESCRIPTION:This class with start at 8:30 am \nThis fundamental course prepares you to provide proper care for life-threatening illnesses or injuries until professional emergency medical care is available. The life-support skills taught in this course include one-person CPR\, use of automatic external defibrillators\, bleeding management\, assisting a choking victim and responding to a person in shock. The first aid skills taught include conducting secondary assessments\, splinting and responding to medical emergencies.\n\nThis course meets the CPR and first aid training requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver Course and all work related requirements \nThis course is also approved by the U.S. Coast Guard as meeting the CPR and first aid requirements for captain and mate licenses. \n  \n \n  \n

The Instructor Course will teach current Divemaster or Assistants Instructors the knowledge to safely function as an Instructor with the abilities to teach Open Water Scuba Divers\, Advanced Adventures Divers\, Rescue Divers\, Divemasters and Assistant Instructors. \nThe program is divided into two sections\,\n– Instructor Development Course (IDC)\, and \n– Instructor Evaluation Course (IEC). \n\n\n\nYOUR DREAM OF BECOMING A PADI INSTRUCTOR STARTS TODAY.\nLET US SHOW YOU HOW!For Private Counseling and to help you plan your next steps as a Dive Professional\, please complete our PADI Instructor Information Request.\n\n\n\n  \n  \nMay 2027 IDC Is Open For Enrollment: \n\n\n\nFriday- Sunday May 7th – 9th \nFriday – Sunday May 14th – 16th \nFriday – Sunday May 21st – 23rd\n\n\n\nThe IDC will consist of eight days of intensive training\, classroom\, pool\, open water\, and will require candidates to make preparations for class assignments outside of scheduled class hours. The average class day will begin at 8am and run eight to ten hours. Due to the demanding nature of the course\, it is highly recommended attendees not schedule additional commitments during the IDC. Professional attire is expected of candidates attending the IDC; tank tops\, cut-off jeans\, offensive or revealing attire is not acceptable. \nFollowing successful completion of the IDC\, Instructor Candidates will be eligible to attend a PADI Instructor Examination (IE). After passing the IE\, they will earn the certification of PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. \nIDC Prerequisites\n-Dive Leader Certification-PADI Divemaster or leadership-level certification with a recognized recreational dive training organization.\n-18 years old.\n-Medical clearance attesting to dive fitness signed by a physician within the previous 12 months.\n-Certified diver for six months.\n-EFR Primary and Secondary Care course completion (or qualifying training) within the last 24 months.\n-If not a PADI Divemaster\, complete the PADI Divemaster course diver rescue skills assessment.\n-Submit documentation of qualifying certifications for entry level\, advanced\, rescue and leadership level\, as necessary. \nRequired Materials\nCandidates are expected to have their own professional and fully functional dive equipment suitable for training entry level divers (excluding tanks and weights provided by Carolina Dive Center )\, as specified in the PADI Instructor Manual. Scuba Gear Kit must include: a surface marker buoy (safety sausage)\, pocket mask\, compass\, timing device (watch or computer which will display seconds/minutes)\, a basic calculator is recommended (use of a calculator on a personal telephone is NOT allowed during the PADI Instructor Examination).
