Charleston Tug – New Diver Charter Sunday September 21st

Charleston Tug: This artificial reef lies in 62 feet of water just off the coast of North Myrtle Beach. The 130 foot tug is sitting upright with the top at about 30 feet and bottoms out at 62 feet. This dive consistently produces the best inshore dive visibility. Â The tug has attracted a wide assortment of wildlife. Typical species include Barracudas, Spanish Mackeral, Spade Fish, Black Sea Bass, and Gobies.

The PADI Boat Diver course helps you expand your knowledge about diving the Carolina Coast Wrecks from a boat,
You’ll gain experience scuba diving by completing two dives from a boat.
Much of the world’s best scuba diving is accessible only by boat. Whether you’ve never made a boat dive or you’ve logged dozens, the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course will benefit you because boats in various parts of the world do things differently.
You’ll practice boat diving techniques and learn:
- Boat Terminology
- Boat diving procedures including:
- Back Roll and Giant Stride Entries
- Safely getting back on the boat with Fins on and Fins off ladders
- Down Line Systems to go and come from Wrecks/Dive Sites
- DSMB Deployment
- Boat Diving etiquette
- Boating safety, including:
- Safety Equipment locations and usage
- ePirbs
- VHF Radios
- Depth Finders
You will complete Two Boat Diver Training Dives with one of our Instructors. On these dives you will learn an complete:
- Back Roll Entry From Boat
- Using Guidelines to go and come from Wreck
- Proper Weighting and Bouyancy Control
- Surface Marker Buoy Deployment
- Safely getting back on the boat and how to approach the Boat Ladder
