SUMMARY:Wreck Specialty
DESCRIPTION:Saturday  May 2nd on the JD Gill and Hyde \nThe Carolina Coast is one of the premier Ship Wreck diving location. We are known as the GRAVE YARD OF THE ATLANTIÇ.  Each wreck dive offers a chance for discovery\, potentially unlocking a mystery or spying something others have missed. The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course will allow you to master the dive skills needed to safely dive the wide variety of ShipWrecks we dive. \n  \nThe Wreck Diver Specialty Certification provides one of the 5 specialties you need to achieve the coveted Master Diver Rating. \nThere are many different types of wrecks\, some of which are protected by laws that guard their historical and cultural significance. Your training starts by reviewing guidelines for researching and respecting wrecks. During four dives you’ll learn: \n\nSafety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks.\nSurveying and mapping a wreck.\nUsing penetration lines and reels to guide exploration.\nTechniques to avoid kicking up silt or disturbing the wreck and its inhabitants.\n\nPADI Wreck Diver Certification require 4 dives. These dives can be completed on two of our Carolina Coast Dive Charters. \nFor  Wreck Diver we recommend the Charleston Tug\, Hyde\, Markum\, Brian Davis and BP25. These charters provide the environments you need to practice and master all of your Wreck Diver skills. They are also shallow enough (less than 100 Feet) so you get plenty of bottom time to practice your Wreck Skills. \n  \nHere is how it works: \nWreck Diver tuition is $299 and includes: \n\neLearning Academics\n Knowledge Review with your Instructor\nFour Wreck Training Dives with one of our Instructors (Charter cost not included.)\nPADI Certification Processing Fee\nIssuing your Wreck Diver  Certification eCard\nLots of Fun\n\nPlease Click Here To Register For Wreck Diver Specialty Class

SUMMARY:Normannia and Nashville
DESCRIPTION:The Normannia is an incredible dive. Because it is so far offshore it is bathed in blue water most of the time. Visibility averages around 60 ft but vis in excess of 100 ft is not uncommon.  The Normannia is a 312 ft. long freighter that was over taken by rough seas in 1924. It was carrying a load of mahogany logs from Jamaica to Charleston SC. It sunk in 110 ft of water 35 miles southeast of Masonboro Inlet. Now the wreck sits upright on the bottom. The 80+ years the wreck has been on the ocean floor has left a shell behind. The outline of the wreck is clearly visible with it structure collapsing in on itself. The boilers\, engine room\, bow and stern remain somewhat intact and comprise the major structure of the wreck. \n  \n \nThe Nashville was a 445 ft steam tanker that was sunk by a German U-boat (U-124). It was hauling fuel oil on March 21\, 1942 when a torpodo slammed into starboard side lifting the giant ship from the water. After the 29 crewmen abandoned ship\, the bow fell off and sunk to the bottom where it lies today. The midship and stern did not sink and were towed to Morehead and later to Baltimore. The Nashville was outfitted with a new bow and was back in service a year later. \nNumber of Dives on This Charter: 2 \nCharter Cost: $176 \nExperiance Level: I – Intermediate:  \n\nMust have Advanced Open Water or Deep specialty certifications (or equivalent dive experience)\nDivers are required to dive Nitrox.\nDivers can complete Deep or Wreck specialty training on these trips. Students completing one of these specialties will dive with one of our instructors.\nMust be 15 years old\n\n\n\nIf you have any issues with our Paypal ticket system below\, \nPlease click here to register for the Normannia and Nashville Charter. \n\n
